A Note from Mommy
I remember the eruption of Mt. St. Helens 25 years ago today like it was yesterday. Of course, I don't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, if that tells you anything. With all the activity going on around the time of Benton's birth, Paul and I decided we should take Ben on a road trip to see the mountain. He was two weeks old, and the morning dawned clear and bright with the weather forecast predicting clear skies all day. Three hours later, when we reached the observing area, the clouds had settled in, leaving little to see but the bottom of the mountain. Not that it mattered, because the little guy slept through the whole thing. We took pictures anyway, so here is the photo documentation of that excursion.

Editor's Note
It has been brought to my attention that this site has been blocking anonymous posts. I have changed that, so now all of you can leave notes for Benton. Sorry about that!

Spring Fling
Mommy took me in for a photo shoot last week. I had a lot of fun with all the attention. Here is how it all turned out. If you would like a picture for your refrigerator, Mommy would be happy to send you one. Just leave a comment under your favorite, and she'll take care of everything.

7 months old
Now that I am seven months old, I feel I have a pretty firm grasp on this life thing. For instance, I am quite sure that the world revolves around me, and that everybody loves me. Mommy says that the first part is not entirely true, but she has yet to supply me with significant evidence to make me change my mind. I am gaining more independence every day. For instance, I like to feed myself, the only problem is I can't figure out which end of the spoon goes in my mouth. Also. I like to sit up and play. It's nice having a change of perspective after all those months of laying around on my back. I have also learned how to close my mouth. I close it only rarely, like when Mommy wants me to smile, as it's still more fun to play with my tongue. Mommy took me in for my springtime photo shoot this week. Stay tuned for pictures!
